There are certain things that can be explained and certain things that cannot be explained. This book is about the latter. It is a book about death: how death interrupts and influences the reflection on the self. It is a book about God: a detailed and critical discussion on how Kierkegaard and Derrida apply the concept of God in their philosophical reflections. The most ground-breaking analysis concerns the famous passage on the self (A.A) in The Sickness unto Death, where the author combines logical, rhetorical and dialectical means to establish a new perspective on Kierkegaards thinking in general. The Cartesian doubt then constitutes a common trait for his detailed and rigorous analysis of Derrida and Kierkegaard on death, madness, faith, and rationality showing how they both seek to break up the Hegelian Aufhebung from within, but still remain dependent on Hegel. After Kierkegaard and Derrida, the certainty and total uncertainty of death and of God as infinite other gives the self a basic, though non-foundational, responsibility. The significance of this responsibility, of this other, of this death, requires sustained and thorough consideration. Where others mark a conclusion, this book therefore marks a point of departure: reflecting on oneself at the graveside of a dead man thus introducing an Autopsia.

Kurzbeschreibung
Während der Drucklegung des zu Beginn des Jahres 1926 abgeschlossenen Manuskripts der Einleitung sowie des Ersten und Zweiten Abschnittes von “Sein und Zeit” setzt Heidegger die Ausarbeitung des dritten Abschnittes “Zeit und Sein” fort. Doch Ende Dezember 1926 entschließt er sich zum Abbruch dieser ersten Ausarbeitung, um in der Vorlesung des Sommersemesters 1927 unter dem Titel “Die Grundprobleme der Phänomenologie” eine neue Ausarbeitung des 3. Abschnittes des I. Teiles von “Sein und Zeit” in Angriff zu nehmen. Der “Gesamtbestand der Grundprobleme der Phänomenologie in ihrer Systematik und Begründung” besteht in der “Diskussion der Grundfrage nach dem Sinn von Sein überhaupt und der aus ihr entspringenden Probleme”: der ontologischen Differenz von Sein und Seiendem, der Grundartikulation des Sein in Was-sein und Wie-Sein (essentia und existentia), den Fragen nach den möglichen Modifikationen, der Einheit sowie dem Wahrheitscharakter des Seins als Erschlossenheit. Wer “Sein und Zei t” als einen Weg zur Ausarbeitung der Seinsfrage überhaupt als dem Ziel studiert, bleibt auf “Die Grundprobleme der Phänomenologie” verwiesen.

Über den Autor
Martin Heidegger (1889-1976) gilt neben Ludwig Wittgenstein als der einflußreichste und bedeutendste Philosoph des 20. Jahrhunderts.

Über den Autor
Karl Marx (1818-83) Der Begründer des wissenschaftlichen Sozialismus entwickelte nach Lektüre der französischen Frühsozialisten, der britischen Nationalökonomie und des Materialismus von Ludwig Feuerbach die Grundzüge eines philosophischen und ökonomischen Systems. Zusammen mit Friedrich Engels entwickelte er die revolutionäre soziale Philosophie, bekannt als Marxismus.
